George Gade, MD
Hello, I'm George Gade, a board-certified and fellowship-trained neurosurgeon with extensive experience in brain injuries, insufficient cerebral blood flow (ischemia), and inflamed tissue caused by the return of blood flow to the brain (reperfusion).
I completed a bachelor's degree in natural science at the University of Pennsylvania in 1969 and then enrolled at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 1969. In 1970, I entered UCLA School of Medicine, earning my medical degree in 1975. I completed an internship in surgery at UCLA in 1976, a residency in general surgery in 1978 and a residency in neurosurgery in 1983, all at UCLA. During that same period, I also pursued graduate studies in neuroscience at UCLA's Brain Research Institute, with an emphasis in cerebral ischemia and reperfusion.
From 1983 to 2003, I taught and served in various positions at UCLA Medical Center while also seeing patients in my private practice. During that time from 1991 to 1993, I also served as chief of the Department of Neurosurgery at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach, California.
In 2003, I joined Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida, as a staff neurosurgeon and serving as director of the Morton Plant Gamma Knife Unit from 2006 to 2008. I joined Yakima Neurosurgery Associates in 2008.
